guidelines

3D design and animation combines a harmonious integration of human touch and technology.

Overview

Duality & balance are everything. Balance between a Ledger device’s security and its ease of use. Duality between the convenience of the Ledger Live app and the exclusive personal ownership of the user’s device. Balance is what made the most secure hardware wallet built for any individual to enjoy freedom.

Materials

The choice of the material is decisive in the composition. Materials add texture and provide harmony to both the composition and narrative storyline. Concrete, chrome and stone for instance, represent robustness and security in addition of being natural. Balance is achieved through creative storytelling.

Elements

Scenes must be both sleek and refined. Elements within the scenes represent Ledger's approach to creative. These elements, tell the stories of our users. Choose them carefully and purposefully. While personality is a good thing to bring to a scene, these elements can easily distract the eye and pull focus, add them with refinement.

Lighting

A sharp, area light, displaced diagonally – is the recommended way to provide contrast highlight to the subject of the scene. Adding natural and warm lights, such as gobos, for the environment are recommended to invite the viewer into the scene.

Contrast

Contrast plays a central role in Ledger's approach to 3D visual direction. Dramatic contrast is used to drive the viewer's eyes to the subject or specific areas within a creative. Light plays an important role in the universe of Ledger, what is in shadow and what is in light are tools for a 3D designer to place emphasis and create hierarchy in a scene.

Environment

The 3D Environment should reflect the human touch principle by implementing daily life objects of a user. It should also consider the natural lighting and the material choices expressed above.

Camera

In most case, the camera is set to a high focal length ranging between 50 to 120, in order to make the products stand out. When a scene is particularly immersive, low focal length, close to fish-eye are allowed.
